Yes, I haven't written in about four months. We could say that I'm no longer keeping a blog, but whatever. Better later than never right. I'm writing a 5-year diary that my dear Estonian friend gave me and it basically collects my thoughts and opinions from 5 years. It asks a different question everyday and again every year to the same page so that afterwards you can see how your opinions and general thinking have changed, but also how you've possible changed a country, studies and how the order of importance and relationships have developed. When I was writing that here one day, I just thought that I should keep up this as much as possible as well. For five years trying to update where I'm going. After all, I already know now that I'm going to live in dozens of places and going to see so many, new and different things. So here you go, regretting the months of silence..

| Wollen socks have definitely been needed this winter. |
 |
I just wanted to put this here. I got a packet in the autumn with nice finnish flavors.
Oh, that just saved a dark autumn night.

| My room and my friend Brice <3 |

| Now in the spring, we have started a movie watching whatever. It started when I was alone in the house and some friends came to invade the place with me: cooking and western for one weekend. And we still watch movies together every week. We've moved from Clint Eastwood so far as the latest Harry Potter. A movie night needs always some baking and cooking. Chocolate cakes, muffins and carrot cake have been with us. |

| DIJON dark winter nights. It can be very pretty here. |
KIEV TRIP - Projet Co
Then it was the turn of eastern Europe, some radiation and Kiev. We left late in the evening from Dijon with the power of Spar souvenirs and winter clothes, spent a not so lovely night at Charles De Gaulle (once more) and finally made it with our scpo group to Kiev.
We had a nice hostel for the whole time. And god that city was cheap, which means we enjoyed very russian food - a lot. Smetana and friends, cottage cheese and vodka. Finlandia vodka in a fancy restaurant only 1€ per eastern european shot ? Kiev was indeed funky. First of all the money is as fake looking as can be and secondly, apparently everything is a bit dodgy in this country and city. Even if you try, something slightly confusing happens.
 |
And it was sunshine the whole time! We couldn't see clouds at all in this country!
It gave so much energy to return for Dijon march. |
 |
| ????? |
 |
Main square and meeting point.
Around the corner, there was a "International Marriage Agency". Want to try? |
 |
| Minus degrees and sunshine and Kiev behind me. |
 |
Fur hats came suddenly really popular among freezing scpo people.
Don't worry, I only borrowed this one. |
I guess, you can sort of guess now where we did a day trip.
It was Chernobyl and ghost town Pripyat time indeed. Private bus and then let's go. The city of Pripyat, the abandoned one, was in a scary and spooky way beautiful. I really liked touring around the school, where everything was like time had stopped. You could see soviet union symbols and signs everywhere. And the school had newspapers, books, children's drawings and toys. It was a sunny day and it gave everything a magical light. It was poetic. I hope I'd have had a proper camera. I could've toured around there for ages. In the end we did spend about 6-7 hours in the whole area. Definitely one of the most memorable and interesting trips I've ever done.
 |
| I took tons of photos inside the buildings: school, culture centre, swimming hall, amusement park.. But it would take ages to put them here. Maybe one day if I get really excited and bored or just start procrastinating more eagerly than now. |
 |
| Then we went to the scary area. Just to give you the idea, a normal dose of radioactivity is 0,2.. |
We actually did stand right next to the power plant where the figures rose quickly and that little thing started beeping and well.. showing scary numbers. The scary thing about radioactivity lies in the fact you can't feel it at all. That plastic thing is the only one warning you about the future cancer and funky body parts.
 |
| And yeah, that's me, the tourist next to the source of radioactivity. |
So many things happened during that trip. It was very well organised and we had a blast together for those 5-6 days. But then we needed to arrive back to Frande. Dear Charles De Gaulle. Other ones hopped on the bus and continued their way to the mustard city, when two others decided to spend another night with the homeless people in a cold airport watching Dexter, and well, continue travelling. That was a long night that I can say.
